Every child has difficult days, but ongoing changes in your child’s mood, behavior, or ability to cope may be a sign that they could benefit from additional support. You might notice frequent meltdowns, increased worry, anger, withdrawal, difficulty with transitions, changes at school, or trouble making friends. Therapy with Sage Hope Counseling can give your child a safe space to express their feelings, learn healthy coping skills, and build confidence.

Telehealth therapy is a great fit for most children and teens. Doing therapy virtually gives your child and family more flexibility in how you fit therapy into your schedule. Some benefits of telehealth therapy include not having to travel for an appointment and being able to meet from a space that is convenient and comfortable for you.
-
For telehealth sessions you will need a strong internet connection, a device with a camera/microphone, and headphones. You can use a phone, tablet, or computer for your appointment.
Your child/teen will need to be in a safe and confidential location for the appointment. Appointments cannot take place in public spaces or moving vehicles.

The first therapy appointment is an intake. During the session we’ll focus on getting to know your child to create a welcoming space where they can be themselves. They’ll have the opportunity to share their story, strengths, and concerns on their own terms. My goal is for everyone to leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and hopeful about the counseling process.

Parents, guardians, and caregivers are an important part of the therapeutic process. Their involvement will be individualized based on the child's or teen's age, developmental needs, treatment goals, and clinical needs. I work collaboratively with parents and caregivers to provide guidance, tools, and support while also respecting the child's or teen's need for privacy and confidentiality.
